The transparent smartphone Nothing Phone was announced from the founder of OnePlus
The ideological founder of OnePlus, who launched the startup Nothing, Carl Pei, announced an ambitious smartphone with a unique design and a transparent cover, which was called the Nothing Phone. According to preliminary data, the release ofa new item is expected in the summer of 2022, sales will tentatively start in August, but the exact date is unknown.
The young company, which announced the concept of its first smartphone, does not reveal much technical details, and the Nothing Phone itself has not been shown. The only thing is reported that the smartphone will receive a Snapdragon processor (the manufacturer does not name the exact brand), a 120-Hz screen and a 50-megapixel camera.
At the moment OnePlus has not yet fully revealed the design of its first smartphone, but designer Ben Geskin has made a concept image based on the device. The design in the photo is as close as possible to the final.
Unlike the technical specifications, a special attention was paid to the announcement of the software shell at the presentation. The gadget will be based on its own Nothing OS, which will be based on Android and will take all the best from it. Considering the fact that the new product will go on sale before August, it will be Android 12.
The manufacturer claims that the shell will be one of the fastest and smoothest among those that exist at the market. According to Carl Pei, the plans will be realized thanks to getting rid of 40% of the provided applications that are supported by smartphones from other brands. At the same time,the system performance will be concentrated around the applications that are active, while those that are unused will be stopped. The OS will alsoremember programs that are frequently used in order to implement their faster launch.
The release of Nothing OS is scheduled in April, the shell will be supplemented with installation instructions for different smartphone models. The user interface will get a black and white theme design.
The company guarantees a decent software support for the new product, which involves the release of operating system updates for 3 years from the date the device enters the market and 4 years for the release of security patches.
