New flagship lineup introduced by Samsung - Galaxy S22 | S22+ | S22 Ultra

As part of the annual Galaxy Unpacked presentation, Samsung introduced a new flagship line of devices - the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The design of the new devices is made in the already familiar Essential Design, which combines minimalism, durability and sophistication. Despite the recognizability of the design, the developers still slightly modified it. Thus Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ got more square frames, and the junior model turned out to be the most compact. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has rounded sides and looks similar to the Galaxy Note 21, only without the bulging camera unit on the back. All models received side frames made of durable Armor Aluminium alloy, and the front and back sides were made of durable Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+.

The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ will be offered in four color schemes: Phantom Black, Phantom White, Pink Gold, and Green. In addition to the basic colors, the developers showed exclusive shades: Cream, Violet, Sky Blue and Graphite. These shades will be available on the official Samsung website depending on the region. The camera unit and side panels are in similar colors so as not to stand out from the overall concept. The junior model Galaxy S22 was not only the most compact in the new series, but in principle at the moment the most compact smartphone 2022. The Galaxy S22 measures 70.6x146x7.6 mm and weighs 168 grams. The Galaxy S22+ measures 75.8×157.4×7.6 mm and weighs 196 grams. The smartphones are protected against water and dust according to IP68 standard and can be submerged under water at a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

The Galaxy S22 has a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with FullHD+ resolution. The screen's frame rate is 120 Hz, and there is also a special Super Smooth technology. Galaxy S22+ got a similar display, but with a larger diagonal - 6.6 inches and support for Vision Booster technology, and Eye Comfort Shield. As for the cameras, both novelties received the same performance lenses in the back and front. The front camera is located at the top of the screen in a small hole, and has a wide angle lens with 10 megapixels, f/2.2 aperture and a viewing angle of 80 degrees. On the back is a small block with 3 cameras. The main module at 50 megapixels with Dual Pixel AF, f/1.8 aperture ratio and a viewing angle of 85 degrees. Then goes wide-angle module at 12 megapixel, f/2.2 aperture ratio and a viewing angle of 120 degrees. The third module is a telephoto, its resolution is 10 megapixel, aperture ratio f/2.4, a field of view of 34 degrees, the module also got 3x optical zoom and optical stabilization.
The flagships received a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200 chip, depending on the sales region, 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of ROM to choose from. The Galaxy S22 has a battery capacity of 3,700 mAh, while the Galaxy S22+ got a 4,500 mAh battery. What's interesting, the younger version supports wired charging up to 25W, the older model - up to 45W. Both devices have support for wireless charging with up to 15 watts. Novelties runs Android 12 with a proprietary shell Samsung One UI 4.1. The contactless payment system uses Samsung Pay based on the NFC module.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 will be priced from $799, the Samsung Galaxy S22+ will be priced from $999. The package will come with a Type-C to Type-C cable, a paper clip to remove the SIM tray, a protective film already installed, and a manual.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is not only different in appearance from its counterparts, but also significantly different in features. As we wrote earlier, the top flagship looks a lot like the Galaxy Note 21, only without the protruding camera unit. The novelty even got its own stylus, which is located in a special hole in the body. Galaxy S21 Ultra looks very bulky, has a square shape and rounded sides. The dimensions of the flagship are 77.9×163.3×8.9, weight - 229 grams. The main color scheme of novelties - Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green and Burgundy. The top version also got exclusive shades: Red, Graphite and Sky Blue. The Galaxy S21 Ultra is also IP68 waterproof and dustproof, has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, supports 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.2 and has NFC.

The novelty received the new Dynamic AMOLED 2X Edge display with a diagonal of 6.8 inches, QHD+ resolution and refresh rate of 120 Hz with the ability to reduce to 1 Hz to save battery power. As for the cameras, they are located vertically on the back panel in a nice and slender row. The main module has a resolution of 108 megapixels, Dual Pixel AF technology with a brightness of f/1.8 and a viewing angle of 85 degrees. Next is the 12 megapixel super-wide-angle module with f/2.2 aperture ratio and 120 degree viewing angle. A pair of last - telephoto, both modules have a resolution of 10 megapixels, the first has a f/2.4 aperture of 36 degrees and a 3x optical zoom, and the second - f/4.9 aperture, a viewing angle of 11 degrees and 10x optical zoom. For the quality of photos is responsible advanced neurochip NPU with AI, there is technology: Multi-Frame Processing, Auto Framerate, improved HDR, as well as the Super Steady System. The front camera has a resolution of 40 megapixels.

The hardware is based on the same single-chip chip as the younger versions, as for memory, there are slightly different numbers. The user will be able to choose a package with RAM for 8/12GB and with ROM for 128/256/512GB or 1TB. The battery capacity of the Galaxy S21 Ultra is 5000 mAh, there is support for wired charging up to 45 watts and wireless charging up to 15 watts. The device runs Android 12 with a proprietary shell.

To buy the Samsung Galaxy S22 will be available at a price of $1199, a complete set is similar to the younger versions of the S22 series. Pre-order all new items will be available until March 10.
