Announcement of new flagships Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro

Meizu has officially introduced a series of new smartphones called Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro. Both smartphones have different design, screen diagonal, battery capacity and different number of cameras. But in terms of performance, here the developer decided to make them identical. The smartphones run on a single chip system Snapdragon 888, have 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM to choose from and built-in UFS 3.1 memory of 128/256GB to choose from. In addition to the processor, the smartphones got the most expensive Samsung Super AMOLED displays.
As for the design, it is very similar to the design of last year's Galaxy S20. In general, Meizu 18 received a very concise design in accordance with the young generation, on the back cover is a rectangular block for the cameras, on the front side at the top of the screen is a small hole for the front camera. The smartphone is 69.2 mm wide, 8.18 mm thick and weighs 162 grams. The display diagonal is 6.23 inches, which makes the device the most compact, and comfortable flagship in the world on the Snapdragon 888.
The display frame rate is 120 Hz, the sensor frequency is 240 Hz, and the peak brightness is 1300 cd/m2. In addition, the display supports HDR10+. Despite its size, the smartphone has a high-capacity battery of 4000 mAh, fast charging up to 36W, which can recharge the smartphone by 80% in just 33 minutes. Meizu 18 got support for Wi-Fi 6E and NFC, ultrasonic fingerprint scanner display. It runs on Android 11 with a proprietary shell.
The front camera has a resolution of 20 megapixels, the camera on the back consists of 3 photo modules: the main module has a Sony IMX682 sensor and an aperture of f/1.6, the second - Samsung S5K3P9SX, a resolution of 16 megapixels and f/2.2, the third module - telephoto with OmniVision OV08A10 sensor, aperture f/2.4 and a resolution of 8 megapixels. The telephoto also supports OIS SMA optical stabilization.
As for the Meizu 18 Pro, the design is also not somehow unique and very similar to that of the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The screen of the smartphone is similar to the younger version, but slightly larger. The display got 6.7 inches. Meizu 18 Pro is 8.1 mm thick and weighs 189 grams. The smartphone supports Wi-Fi 6E and NFC is more functional, which allows you to use the device as a car key. The Pro version got a 4,500 mAh battery, wireless and 40W wired charging.
The front camera has a resolution of 40 megapixels and a Samsung GH1 sensor. The main camera unit consists of: the Samsung GN1 sensor with a resolution of 50 megapixels, a 32 megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a third 8 megapixel sensor with a 3x optical zoom, the fourth module is 3D ToF. The maximum claimed zoom is 30x, and there is also a hybrid stabilization system.
The new series of smartphones Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro will go on sale on March 8. Prices for the Meizu 18 in different packages: 8/128GB - $680, 8/256GB - $725 and 12/256GB - $775.
