Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will soon be available for mobile platforms

The company CD Projekt RED today held a press conference on the results of work for 2018. The company announced that it is preparing to release Gwent: The Witcher Card Game on mobile platforms. In the fall of 2019 on iOS and a little later, the game will be available to Android owners. The main director for the development of the project, Jason Slama, said that they have spent a lot of effort and resources to transfer the game to mobile platforms. They tried to maintain excellent graphics, as well as to introduce support for mobile devices in many technologies and provide the best gameplay developments. At this, the developers decided to stop and move on to the financial results. Gwent brought a lot more revenue than Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, which was released on October 23 in the GOG, November 10 - on Steam, and on December 4 - on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Many believed that this was all due to temporary exclusivity, but as the developers report, such an outcome was due to lack of resources, because their attention was focused on the game Gwent. Now we’ve all started pre-orders for the new addition The Crimson Curse for the game Gwent, which will be released on March 28th. The developers also shared that they intend to release major additions every year, as well as replenish the game with new content every month. Studio president Adam Kichinsky said that they are considering possible monetization, but have not yet announced the options. According to the financial results, CD Projekt RED received $67.2 million in revenue from sales, which is a third less than last 2017. Net income was $28.6 million, compared to $52.4 million in the previous period. In The Crimson Curse players await a battle with the monsters Dettlaff van der Eretein, a character from the famous addition "Blood and Wine" to "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt". Also, the game is replenished with over 100 new maps and new mechanics.
