Samsung's positions swiftly give slack
The company began to lose its position in the market, a large decline in sales was reflected in budget and medium-budget smartphones. Samsung is no longer able to compete with Huawei, Xiaomi and other companies from China, the main reason remains the high cost with an unattractive appearance and average performance. According to analysts from IDC, Samsung’s losses were 2% in the third quarter of 2018 compared to last year’s period. In total, the company occupies 19% of the market share, and it managed to ship only 72.3 million smartphones, which is 13% less than last year. Also, sales of top flagships, which in the first months caused a stir, are bad, and now there are no queues behind them. The general manager of the mobile unit, Don Jin Koch, was not afraid to call the situation in the company “crisis”. The head of the division expressed regrets and admitted that Samsung Mobile is doing worse than its competitors, who were serious about pricing. At the moment, the company does not have time to change the business strategy for sales of budget smartphones. The only thing that the South Korean giant can count on is the Galaxy S10 and the flexible Galaxy F, flagships that can boost the company's economic position.
