Owners of smartphones running Android 9 Pie can no longer worry about their safety
From the official data of the search giant herd it is known that the company intends to strengthen security measures for owners of Android 9 Pie. Google developers have created a new cloud backup encryption module - Titan. Thus, all data uploaded to the cloud will be protected by a special key that is accessible only to users.
“By combining Android’s backup service with Titan’s technology, Google managed to make significant progress in securing user data and privacy. Owners of all devices running Android Pie can take advantage of a new data encryption key that is randomly generated for each client in separately and provided with a password to access the system ", - said representatives of Google

Additional data encryption prevents third parties from deciphering with malware. Titan module is able to automatically analyze the number of unsuccessful attempts to find a password and block access to the contents of cloud storage. The module itself is located on Google’s servers, thus not giving the fraudsters a chance to reset the counter and start picking up the password again even when using applications like GrayKey. To test the reliability of such a module, Google invited the best cyber security experts from the NCC Group. All possible options for decrypting personal data were completely eliminated, and the system itself was approved for commissioning.
