New technology of three-dimensional face scanning -TOF 3D

The company Vivo, during the World Mobile Congress in Shanghai, introduced a new scanning technology that is 10 times the Face ID in the iPhone X. Vivo uses a sensor that projects 300,000 rays to create a full 3D model. Face ID from Apple uses the same total of 30,000 points. Development from Vivo creates the most accurate model at a distance of up to 3 meters. Alex Feng, Senior Executive Director of Vivo, said: "By combining TOF 3D technology with AI, we will continue to explore opportunities for a better future." 3D scanning technology can be used not only for the purposes of once locking the smartphone, but also during gesture control, environmental scanning. The timing of the release of TOF 3D technology is still unknown.
